Convert Your Attention Deficit Disorder into the blessing it really is
If you don’t know about your special blessings and you are only focused on curing a problem that does not exist, then even though you belong in this elite
group, you suffer needlessly and you waste your incredible potential.
There are 2 ways you can discover the truth about your ADD-ADHD gifts.
1. Do it yourself. This includes using the “Trial and Error” method of discovery. Because of the very strong need for people with ADD-ADHD to be independent, this is frequently the most frequent method chosen. ADD-ADHD people feel they can do it themselves and rarely connect with others who try to help. This process can work but takes lots of time (decades) and requires many unnecessary errors.
2. Get the right person to help you. That person would be your ideally matched life coach. Your coach will be the only person who will focus entirely on you to assist you to unravel the “Mystery of you,” without judgment or negativity. If you have Attention Deficit you have a genuine blessing, but most likely you do not know how and you have been penalized by others because you are different. You will be astonished at the remarkable talents your life coach will reveal to you, and you and your coach will work as a team to take control of your life and maximize your new found talents.
“It is hard for me to comprehend what life was like before coaching with Carroll, and the support of Bill Dueease. If there was any human being out there that needed career coaching, it was me. I have ADD. The Coach Connection saved me from a fate truly worse than death, never discovering who I was.” E. Arthur Ellison

Attention Deficit Disorder is treated as a problem by those without ADD-ADHD
The title “Attention Disorder” labels ADD-ADHD as a disruptive disorder. A more intense version is called “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The symptoms attributed to this “Attention Disorder” include any combination of over-activity, (Hyperactivity for ADHD) inattentiveness, and impulsivity. It is frequently first “diagnosed” in children and continues into adulthood. It is estimated that about 5% of the population has ADD-ADHD.
If you have ADD-ADHD there is NOTHING WRONG with you!
In fact, you are blessed with very special and unique powers and talents, not available to those without ADD/ADHD, whom I call “the normals.” Yes, people with ADD/ADHD are different, and that is why you are so special. Read “ADD-ADHD Blessing or Disorder?” to discover the details why ADD-ADHD is a true blessing from your perspective, and not an Attention Disorder that needs to be “cured.”
Having ADD-ADHD can be very Powerful and Rewarding!
Most people want to be considered special, to be considered unique! People love to be recognized as extraordinary. Students are graded and treated special when they get high, above average grades. Artists, athletes, doctors, leaders, and inventors are lauded and greatly rewarded for their exceptional performance. Being average can almost be considered bad. Who wants to be considered average? Most people invest considerable effort and time to work hard to reach exceptional levels in anything.
Yet, people with ADD-ADHD are so talented and gifted, read different, that they achieve the highest levels through using their talents much easier, sometimes too easy. ADHD people stand out just being themselves. In fact, with ADD-ADHD you join a very elite group of people who have excelled and changed the world, only because they have or had ADD-ADHD. Here is a brief sample of this elite group. Albert Einstein, John Kennedy, John Lennon, Galileo, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Muhamed Ali, Henry Ford, Robin Williams, Louis Pasteur, Winston Churchill, Walt Disney, Bruce Jenner, Beetoven, Werner von Braun, Michael Phelps, George C. Scott, Magic Johnson, Steve McQueen, Terry Bradshaw, Steve Jobs, and Carl Lewis to name just a few. You can join this list, if you want.
The world treats people with Attention Deficit Disorder differently
The “normal” world frequently insists that people with ADD-ADHD, especially children and teenagers be “cured and fixed.” They are labeled and treated as “disruptive,” “troublesome,” “abnormal,” “antisocial,” or “uncontrollable,” almost always in a very negative way. Frequently drugs are prescribed and even imposed as the “cure.” Therapy and psychiatry are also used sometimes to “fix the problem.” Treatment of ADD-ADHD focuses on correcting the symptoms to make people with attention disorder less active, more attentive and less impulsive so they will act more normal and be less disruptive. The primary drugs used against ADHD people contain amphetamines, which dramatically slow down, even dumb down ADD-ADHD people.
Why are ADD-ADHD people pressured to be “cured?”
People who do not have attention deficit disorder (Normals) are disturbed by the different and unusual behavior actions of ADHD people, and in a deeper sense are envious of their special gifts and seek to pull them down to their level. People with ADHD are different and are in a very small minority, so the vast majority of people try to force conformity.
Yet, when 2 or more people with ADD-ADHD interact, the above symptoms rarely cause the same conflicts and if they did they are rarely considered as offensive as they are to normals.
What can people with ADHD-ADD do to thrive in this world?
There are several things people with ADHD-ADD can do to take control of their lives to convert their ADHD into the blessing it really is:
1. The most important thing people with ADHD-ADD can do is to recognize and accept they ARE different and special. You want and need to learn as much about you as you possibly can. You want to become “The World’s Leading Expert on You,” which will be the key to your understanding of your specialness, your clarity and confidence, your growth and improvement! This will include:
a. Investigate and discover your own unique and special Talents. Every person with ADHD-ADD possesses very powerful and unique talents and gifts, rarely found in normals. No two ADHD people are alike. Each person with Attention Deficit has very different gifts and talents. For example they may have special musical talents, special writing talents, special language talents, special mathematical talents, special programming talents, special swimming talents, special comedic talents, special boxing talents, special inventors talents, special organization talents, etc. Remember, with ADHD, the talents you have are far more powerful and reach levels that are far greater than those of people without ADHD-ADD. In reality, you will learn that your talents in at least one special area will be world class. Your talents will be at the levels of Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Muhamed Ali, Mozart, John Lennon, Michael Phelps, Steve Jobs, etc. People with Attention Deficit also have the ability to hyperfocus by concentrating on the one thing they are passionate about to achieve remarkable objectives.
b. Discover and recognize your Self Imposed Obstacles. These are the things you dislike doing, that bore you, and that really distract you. Frequently you will have very little if any talent to perform these activities, so they disinterest you. These are the characteristics that make it difficult to live and operate in a world dominated and designed for people without ADHD. For example having difficulty remembering names, difficulty remembering scheduled events, difficulty remembering where the keys are, feeling frustrated in classrooms and meetings, appearing to be disorganized, feeling need to get others to talk faster, being easily bored with subjects imposed by others, possessing bundles of energy to do something, impatience because others cannot keep up with you, and always feeling different, but not knowing why. There are logical reasons people with ADHD struggle with these issues, and once understood, they can be easily controlled and overcome, without much effort or stress.
c. Discover your true Passions. Knowing your passions will direct you to where you employ your special talents in a way that will create the remarkable results you are capable of. ADD-ADHD people thrive and enjoy life when they are using their special talents to fulfill their own passions. Thomas Edison was so passionate about discovering the right filament that would produce light that he made over 5,000 attempts before he found the one that worked. Michael Phelps swam thousands of practice miles in the pool to hone his skills to become the only winner of 8 gold medals in swimming. Talk about hyperfocus. They were all passionate about what they did and the results were out of this world, because they used their special gifts to fulfill their passions. We all owe them our thanks.
d. Discover your Beliefs and Values. Some people call this spirituality as opposed to religion. These are your integrity points, your boundaries. Your core values are really what drive and sustain you when everything around you appears to be pulling against you. They determine your character, your integrity levels. They are your source of true power. For example Terry Bradshaw kept hearing how he was not smart enough to be a NFL quarterback, while he kept winning 4 Super Bowl rings, Muhamed Ali challenged the entire US Draft system, and felt the intense scrutiny of the American public as he continued to win championships while affecting the entire draft system at the same time. Walt Disney was ridiculed for believing he could popularize the drawing of a mouse into a business, while undergoing at least 2 bankruptcies. Albert Einstein was forced to take the 5th grade over again. His teachers tried to intimidate him because they were so threatened by his intelligence.
e. Discover your own personal Priorities. Knowing your priorities along with the above 4 other ingredients about you will give you the clarity and confidence to focus your attention, and your efforts on the things that matter the most to you. You will be able to block out unwanted distractions and interferences of outside sources. To pursue and reach your chosen destinations that because of your ADD-ADHD will almost always be more remarkable than others can imagine.
2. Get help. Discovering yourself to become “The World’s Leading Expert On You” can rarely be done alone, and even more rarely in less than decades. That’s right decades. But getting the right help from a life coach will assist you to discover all of the five ingredients about you in only months, not decades, and with total honesty and confidentiality, without judgment, and without manipulation. Your life coach will reveal you to you, to unravel the mystery of you, and that will set you free. Plus, your life coach will be the first and only person to make you the total center of attention, without telling you or instructing you or without imposing guilt or expectations. Your life coach will support you completely, no matter what.
Life Coaching was developed by a person with ADD-ADHD for himself
Thomas Leonard, a fellow ADHDer created and developed the life coaching process to help him master his own ADD-ADHD, out of frustration. He had been trying to figure out whom he was, what drove him and why he felt special and different but could not understand why. He tried all of the known human improvement processes to discover the truth about himself and never got close. When he sought help, everyone took the superior position to impose their bias, expertise, their egos, and such on him, without focusing on him to seek and reveal the truth within him.
So he used his special ADHD-ADD talents and developed his own human improvement process, he called “personal coaching” to unravel the mystery of himself. He did this around 1991. His new “personal coaching” process worked so well and so fast for him that he decided to tell the world about this new human improvement process. He enlisted a number of people and documented the coaching process, and created training documents to train others to become coaches. He found his calling and built a new way for all humans to improve themselves much more completely and much faster than ever before. Thomas was the driving force behind creating the coaching industry. He co- founded the first coach training school, founded the second coach training school, and was the brains behind organizing the first coaching association in only 3 years. Because of Thomas Leonard’s use of his special ADHD talents, the coaching industry was born that has exploded in growth ever since because personal coaching Works!
The Life Coaching Process grew against all odds.
The life coaching process Thomas developed was so effective, so valuable and so universal, it overcame all of the forces against him that dispelled life coaching as only a new fad. Thomas was so focused and so clear about his mission to share his new remarkable discovery with the world that he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. He even upset his co-founders of the first coaching school they created together. Whole industries felt threatened, namely the psychiatry, therapy, counseling and even consulting industries rebuffed Thomas and his new thing called personal coaching. He was very opinionated and very direct, and was a true pioneer who had to fight through the rejections of status quo.
People with ADHD will get the most from being coached but frequently avoid it.
When people with ADHD-ADD discover themselves through life coaching they gain control of their lives and their ADHD and they almost always pursue and achieve incredible goals. The transformations and successes are most often spectacular. People with ADHD really gain amazing benefits from being coached and the growth and life improvements they experience are virtually always incredible.
One of the most rewarding aspects of having ADHD-ADD is the strong sense of independence and the ability to fulfill that independence. People with ADHD are rarely controlled and this often frustrates others. But this strong tendency towards independence, misdirects ADHD people away from their greatest source for growth and true independence, they shy away from getting help from another human being. This is especially true when you consider that most everyone degraded and tried to fix them as if they were damaged.
