Realizing these goals was very improbable, until personal coaching arrived. Thomas Leonard developed the “personal coaching” process around 1991, and the availability of enough quality personal coaches did not develop until around 2000. Thomas called his special and very effective new human improvement process “personal coaching.” Influences by TV and other forces renamed the process “life coaching.” Thus the terms “personal coach” and “life coach” are interchangeable.
